The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities will hold public meetings this week in Tok, Fairbanks and Delta Junction to present the “Alaska-Richardson-Steese Corridor Action Plan (ARS CAP).”  All meetings start at 5:30 pm.

After a short presentation, the mic will be open for public testimony on the proposed ARS CAP. Sign up for testimony when you arrive at the venue. If you wish to submit written comments, you may send those to comments@akrichsteese.com from now until May 17, 2024.

Advocates for Safe Alaska Highways (ASAH) has stated that the plan/study of the DOTPF is “full of holes.” ASAH’s full-page ad in the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner listed several criticisms of the plan.

ASAH encourages everyone concerned about the Kinross ore haul to attend one of these meetings and voice their concerns. Any questions for ASAH can be sent to info@safealaskahighways.org.
