The Alaska Department of Transportation (DOT) is updating the Interior Alaska Transportation Plan (IATP). The IATP is a 20-year regional multimodal transportation plan that will guide future public investments in transportation infrastructure in the interior Alaska region.

This includes funding for bridges and highway improvements being “fast-tracked” to support the Kinross ore hauling plan.

Statewide transportation planning is required per 23 United States Code 135 in order to receive federal highway transportation funding for Alaska. DOT is asking for the public’s input. What do you think the transportation system should look like in the future? What are the transportation needs in your area? The following opportunities are available to meet with DOT personnel and give them feedback. ASAH encourages everyone to participate and get involved.
