At the end of a long 4-hour TAC meeting yesterday and a quick sidebar in the hallway by meeting organizers, it was announced that this would be the last public TAC meeting. Shelly Wade, the meeting moderator, explained that DOT Commissioner Anderson had ordered the process be wrapped up and the final report produced. Several TAC members commented that it was clear this “independent study” was actually being directed by DOT. The day before the TAC the meeting, the Commissioner sent this letter to TAC members.

Dermot Cole, who attended the meeting via zoom, summed it up quite well: Dunleavy administration orders halt to meetings of Kinross ore-haul study group; ignores request for ‘pause’ in trucking operation.
